  • Horticultural Consulting: Having issues in your garden that you aren’t certain how to fix? We’ll gladly assist you.

Here at Shadowood:

  • An interesting selection of organic seeds, vegetable and herbs plants, as well as other gardening supplies (organic fertilizers, OMRI rated organic pest control products, potting soils, starter cells, plant markers, etc.) for organic food gardeners. The public is currently welcome to shop at the farm Tuesdays through Fridays from 3-6PM, as well as Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10AM-1PM. If you wish to purchase items other than during our designated public hours, please e-mail to set up a private appointment.

The Shadowood Organic Food Garden!

    A portion of the food harvested from a large space on 3/31/11. Kohlrabi, Yellow and Green Zucchini Squash, White Onions, Pole Beans, Italian Kale, Dill Blossoms, Heirloom Zucchini, Buttercrunch Lettuce, Radishes, Bulbing Fennel, Sea of Red Romaine Lettuce, Yellow and Red Pear Tomatoes, Gold Jubilee Tomatoes, Orange and Yellow Carrots, Neon Swiss Chard and assorted Chile Peppers.

What is this? A community garden type setting in Palm City. We’ve  created individual, raised garden plot rental spaces where you can grow your own organic foods from October through April/May with help from friends and other food growers. Plant,learn, grow, pick, eat, share!

Our first season was a great success in spite of multiple frost and freeze events… We  built the “phase two” garden spaces over the summer and are thrilled to say that all spaces for the 2011/2012 growing season are full.  Our new “phase three” garden is currently under construction and will be ready for new gardeners in the 2012/2013 season that begins October 1, 2012. We are currently accepting reservations for the 2012/2013 Season.

We’re offering something for everyone who wants fresh, organic and local food, so here are your options at Shadowood:

  • You can rent a garden space and learn to grow your own food. Now taking reservations for the 2012/2013 season.5/5/12 Note: Only 1 small and 1 large spaces still available.
  • You can rent a garden space, have us maintain your space and just come out to the farm to harvest.  Now taking reservations for the 2012/2013 season. 5/5/12 Note: Only  3 large spaces still available.
  • You can rent a garden space, have us maintain it AND deliver your food to you once a week. Now taking reservations for the 2012/2013 season.
  • In the meantime….You can become a General Member for $35 per season and have the opportunity to attend classes, seminars, have the option to buy food from Shadowood gardeners at ultra reasonable prices and be placed on our waiting list for a garden space.Please note that due to limited spaces, only those who are serious enough about gardening to become General Members will be placed on our current waiting list.
  • Fresh Food Picked on February 5th, 2011

Fresh veggies picked from a 6 x 12 space on December 1, 2010. Mixed Leaf Lettuce, Arugula, Red Romaine Lettuce, Lancinato Kale, Assorted Chile Peppers and 3 1/2 pounds of Beets and one yellow pear Tomato. The approximate value: $30! This is one weeks harvest.
